The Cat is out of the Bag
Roxy and I have never really talked to anyone about the fact that we have done anything related to the swinging lifestyle. One friend knew we had “checked out” Wicked, but other than that exploratory visit everything to this point had been a secret. Today Roxy was having a coffee with a friend, the one who knew about the “visit” and she told her more about our exploration. I am not upset, in fact in some way I am relieved that this is not just our secret anymore. Other than the friends we have made in the lifestyle, no one from our Vanilla lives had any idea. As a guy, I haven’t felt the need to tell anyone that my wife and I allow each other to once in a while fuck other people, in front of and with each other but now knowing the cat is out of the bag I am fine with it.
There are many reasons people keep their swinging lives a secret. The most obvious include the fear of alienation from friends and family due to breaking “societal norms” and the fear of impact on children. The latter is the main reason we have not disclosed our little secret. Our friend that now knows has her own children who are friends with ours, and had no issues with our choice. I would somehow imagine that most people who we know would not have an issue with our choice, regardless of their own beliefs. That said neither Roxy nor I will be running off to tell anyone else at this point. In the end this is about us and no one else.
