Roxy and C are now famous

Stephen Benedict-Mason is a psychologist, a former university professor, syndicated newspaper columnist and radio talk-show host. When we received an email from him asking if he could put a link to our blog in one of his posts on Psychology Today we agreed. What was the article about we asked. Well, Roxy and I had recently commented on another blog we follow talking about the political affiliation of American swingers. In it, we stated the following:

“Hi There. We are a middle-class, mid 30′s swinging couple from Toronto and we agree with much of your article but how can swingers be politically conservative yet sexually liberal? When we watch US politics, sex and abortion are so often wrapped in political discussions. Do US swingers think liberally but vote conservatively?”

Our comment was in reaction to the statement that most American swingers are actually conservative when it comes to the polling booth. How could this be?  How could people who are so sexually free be so politically straight?  Maybe that’s exactly the same thing?

Stephen in his article made reference to the fact that conservatives by nature are looking for less control in their lives.  Normally this would mean less government intervention in things like health care, gun ownership, etc.  Why stop there thought?  Why not take it into the bedroom too?  Perhaps the swinging that is done by political conservatives is actually their way of saying no to government control? Take back the country through sexual freedom!

So you are saying that its the progressives and liberals that are keeping your from sexual exploration, and not the regressive “gays are the devil”, conservative bible-thumping?

That's an interesting point of view.
